Scholarship FAQ
Is there an application form?
No, just provide a covering letter indicating your desire to apply. Please include contact information.
Do I have to be an current player?
No, if you played a season at anytime with CLBL you are eligible. Just list what years you played with us.
What type of references are you after? Is just the name of the person giving the reference sufficient?
Please ask your reference to provide a paragraph or two describing their experience with you at games/practices, at school, or doing your community service. Please describe the community service work performed. If you have any awards please list those. Please list the years each reference covers.
Do I need to write an essay?
No, although if you have anything you’d like to add, just include it in your covering letter.
There was mention of endowing/funding the scholarship, how may I help?
Initially, we just planned to run this scholarship for 5 years but we’ve had numerous approaches about getting involved. It’s obvious Peter had a major affect on the community, so if you’d like to drop us an e-mail we’ll gauge the level of interest and plan from there.
I don’t have a senior so why am I getting this e-mail?
Our apologies if your 3rd grader is years off from graduating but it’s probable that a family friend, babysitter, or part-time employee is or will soon be a high school senior that played with CLBL at one time. We’re hoping that everyone can spread the word for us so that players from years past will hear about it and apply.
I’ve already sent in my application so I’m worried that I’ve missed something described in this FAQ.
Don’t worry, just mail us any supplementary information you would like to provide. We’ll put it together with your original material.
